...between the fill pipe and the tank. That keeps the neck from developing stress cracks. Can't foresee rats gnawing on the rubber, but thankfully that's a cheap fix. Tell her "good job" for reporting it to the gas station. They usually have something like "speedy-dry" to soak up petroleum spills.
Did he stick a new inspection sticker on the vehicle?
One thing with the brake pad pins. Hopefully he sanded and greased the pins, otherwise they'll continue to corrode and may cause the pads to hang up (again).
The timing belt and water pump are fairly standard service procedures, and shouldn't be that expensive. Don't be alarmed if they find an idler pulley with bad bearings. Those occasionally go bad, and are pretty simple (and inexpensive) to replace, especially when you do the water pump. Recommend watching the YouTube video on those replacements so you know what the mechanic will do.
